Enough sun no matter how gray the day gets…
The best part of news programs today are their segments and stories dedicated to the triumph a human spirit over trials, tribulations, crisis, vices and violence. Seeing people beaming and smiling after life-storms are amazing. I've read in one church publication that happiness is first and foremost a choice. Once you've decided on being happy despite the situation your in, then happiness is a state of mind. Several people have whined and paint themselves in corners just to be 'safe' in life…are they happy?
Personally, with my experience with whiners, happiness is a difficult choice especially when happiness is the only thing of importance a person has to hold onto. When I start my day in anger or think badly of another, my choice to be happy is taken over by a dark cloud of unpleasantness. The choice to be happy despite of life's curve balls makes it easier to trudge our paths of uncertainty with hope.
