Of Cats and Men

We were always dog people, by the age of 16 my brother (he was just 5 then) and I rescued a tiny calico from an empty lot. Out of pity we took it home and gave it a thorough bath and feeding. We named her Toulsa, she stayed us for several months and died after.

Experiencing the world of cat owning became a welcome elation that a litter of 5 cats adopted our planter box as their home and us as their humans. Among the several cats ever to have us as humans were, Tosca, Cutie, Darby and at present Moon.

These cats have meant the world to us and have opened our eyes to the mysterious world of feline character. Most of which as we surfed through the Internet learned to be individualistic. Tosca was the debonair, sleek and reserved; Cutie, the proper gent, sticking to me through thick and thin; Darby, the sweet girl and the purr-o-meter. While the latest, Moon is the most self-centered but sweet feline we've ever owned.

Unlike dogs, pet cats rely on their unique character, they'd rather be given their own time and summon you if they want to purr on your or play with you. Having Moon before getting Sugah made it easier for for both animals to get along and play with each other. Being the first creature at home, Moon was confident enough of our love that an additional puppy was welcomed playmate. Having both pet cat and dog is having the best of both worlds.
