Duck Tale

After whittling a smooth slingshot, a little boy tried hitting anything he saw in the forest. Not having much luck, he headed home. On his way to the main house, he saw his grandma's duck and gave it a shot between the eyes. It was dead, looking left and right, the boy suddenly realized his mistake and threw the duck away from the farm. Having witnessed his duck murder, his sister would whisper "Remember, Granny's duck… " every time she'd exempt herself from housework. For the whole day, he became his sister's slave because of the duck-murder he committed. He got tired as day was turning into night. He mustered enough courage and told granny the truth. To his surprise, his granny hugged him and told him: "I know, I saw you from my window and forgave you. I didn't say anything, yet I'd wondered how long you'd remain a slave to your sister."

Amazing that the power of love can swallow anger and be mindful of the suffering of the one that offended.

Today, we'd rather pretend and not deal with mistakes. Some even profit from a person's errors. The better of them is the one that sees, forgives, waits and whispers a prayer.
