Bright lights and fire
We 're counting off the days 'till Christmas, well mostly because as early as now hints of the ideal gift this year have been dropped here and there. As much as this occasion is one that brings us joy and good cheer, it is also part of the season where fire hazard warnings are given.
According to the NFPA, as much as 300 Christmas Tree fires have ignited since 2000. Civilian deaths and injuries are minimal, but damage to property reached 16.8 million.
Prevention and fire plan practice are several parts of NFPA information spreading. Warnings are up specially this season when it is not Christmas if lights are nowhere to be found. Just remember to pull out the plugs when going out or when your about to turn in for bed. Choose a fire-retardant tree and quality control tested lights and fire-resistant decors. Candles can be done without or if there's a need to use have proper holders and place them in places far from things that can catch fire easily.
Sometimes caution is thrown to the wind, often we think '…it can never happen to me'. Keep in mind, the ones who experienced fire had also thought that.
