De-stress This Coming Year
The Holidays are almost through and for most of us who have had to decorate, prepare, organize and cook for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year gatherings it is very much a relief to not be in that state of mind for long.
Like it or not, we just out do ourselves trying to take each year's event a notch higher from the last in the hope your children would weave legends around it for the next generation. As much as we are appreciated, we need to care for ourselves and get that after holiday pampering and year-to-come beauty resolutions to keep.
Clean out that cosmetics bag or box…Keeping old and used make-up beyond its usage life is inviting microbes to give your skin rashes or reactions. The Food and Drug Administration has a table that indicates a beauty product shelf life (www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/cos-207.html ).
Sleep well…most symptoms like headaches, hair-fall or loss, skin break outs and slow healing are traced back to your body's not getting the proper rest it needs. Keeping your sleep at 8 hours makes you more on the go when waking up. Sleep is when your body recovers its physiology, regenerates cells, manufactures blood and breaks down amino acids and absorbs nutrients better. Some who think being able to get on with only 4 hours sleep in their early 20's are often more exhausted and highly strung than those who have had rest.
Wash your face…gravity can not be stopped. Wrinkles do appear and unless we have money to go under the knife the best bet would be clean face. Fight the urge to prick or squeeze pimples that are stress-caused- scars do not go well with wrinkles!
Last would be to do away with the ashtrays in every room and fight the urge and decrease cigarette smoking. Smoking causes more wrinkles and frown lines aside from the risk of cancer and liver cirrhosis. Just like most resolutions, keeping them really depends on how
much you'd want results.
Here's wishing you all a healthy, Happy and Blessed New Year to you!
