Pet dog owners are just as unique and different as their own pet children when it comes to temper, preference and motivation (yes, I am talking about humans). Being a pets pack leader calls for detail and careful deciding. A lot has been written about dog beds and being one who appreciates this invention, I'd like to share something about my dog bed journey.
There are several types of dog beds, which have been made for purposes and styled for purposes too.
Portable- these are collapsible and do not have a foam top. It looks much like a mini-trampoline. Its legs are fold-able and may be a foot or so from the ground.
Beach - these beds are like exercise mats and easily stored, they can be used on cold days and on warm ones. BUT I wouldn't force my dog to give up a cool marble floor for it on very dry and sweltering hot days.
Outdoor- these beds can be for indoors but the reason it was termed as outdoor is because of the fabric used. It is weather proof and fade proof. It can be rained on and sunned upon.
Indoor - these beds are made of fabric suited for indoors. Mostly made of foam and boosters with cotton, fleece or faux suede as covering.
Orthopedic- beds made with memory foam to adjust to the user. Dogs who are old or prone to bone problems and those ailing from bone-muscle problems need this to be able to sleep. These beds relieve pain your pet feels in positioning itself right.
The dog beds I have just written down are those found in most pet shops and are bought primarily for their function. These come in styles and colors just like most of pets accessories.

A 4 year old got tired of being teased by an older brother, out of frustration he launches a fish hook (they were play fishing) it hit his target and more. Since then the older brother had to make do with one functioning eye and a glass eye.
Home safety may not be a 100% guarantee of an accident-less home, but its better to lessen the odds with several things to remember.
Basic Child Safety list:
Treat kids according to age and responsibility. It is best not to generalize nor to exclude anyone from instruction of warning.
Choose toys that are safe. In multi-age homes, consider a request for a toy objectively. A pellet gun or darts for an overactive child is waiting for an accident to happen.
Fully instruct and remind kids the proper way to use potentially dangerous materials and toys (darts, hooks, glass figurines, matches, flash or pellet guns). My sister has a scar on her face caused by a schoolmate who thought of puncturing her face with a pencil (1/2 inch long). She's turning 40 but still shirks away when something gets close to her face.
Have time to supervise kids when in play, some games can be potentially dangerous. Might as well define safe-zones if there is no play room in the house. Blind-man's bluff in a room with wooden furniture is may sound harmless, until one kid shows up with a bleeding nose (it happened to me when when I was 5, whacked the bridge of my nose on a wooden edge- bloody!).
Teach kids to stay away from sharp objects or anyone working with or using it. Talking to someone cutting up food or sawing wood should send a warning flag up,distraction and accident is written all over it.
Most accidents can be prevented with proper instruction and teaching. For most, the home is considered the safest place in the world.

We 're counting off the days 'till Christmas, well mostly because as early as now hints of the ideal gift this year have been dropped here and there. As much as this occasion is one that brings us joy and good cheer, it is also part of the season where fire hazard warnings are given.
According to the NFPA, as much as 300 Christmas Tree fires have ignited since 2000. Civilian deaths and injuries are minimal, but damage to property reached 16.8 million.
Prevention and fire plan practice are several parts of NFPA information spreading. Warnings are up specially this season when it is not Christmas if lights are nowhere to be found. Just remember to pull out the plugs when going out or when your about to turn in for bed. Choose a fire-retardant tree and quality control tested lights and fire-resistant decors. Candles can be done without or if there's a need to use have proper holders and place them in places far from things that can catch fire easily.
Sometimes caution is thrown to the wind, often we think '…it can never happen to me'. Keep in mind, the ones who experienced fire had also thought that.

How often is it that our actions define what is in our hearts? When I blog, I notice that the influences of what I'd jot down are the thoughts generated by surroundings, exposure and sometimes bothersome occurrence. A line from "Faust" says "A man sees in the world what he carries in his heart"!
The feeling we convey, the thoughts we think, the actions we take are often rooted in how life has treated us. An utterly negative person who does nothing but offer an argument to any good intentioned idea is someone who always needs to validate their "existence". While others who just nit-pick are there to relish cutting people down to size.
No route with malice and bitterness is a better road to trudge.

Funny how one magazine article said that love causes blindness, momentary lunacy and hallucinations. It is a cynical way to look at love, but then again…
Blindness is very much what happens when the thing we have loved most about the person may just be our undoing. Heard about the man who worship the ground his lover walked on. She was aggressive, strong, beautiful beyond compare. He would've married her, but then she jilted him because she was strong-willed and aggressive- she didn't think much of him and his submissiveness.
Momentary lunacy, this one's easy…Tom Cruise jumping on the couch and doing a Snoopy dancing in the air in love. Or better yet the first time we've ever heard and experienced it…bubbly feeling, a wide smile breaking out just thinking of the object of affection.
Hallucinations, there is a poster in a women's crisis shelter that read "Oh love, look what you've done…" the picture is of a woman beaten up beyond recognition looking up with the eye she can peer through. With my own set of scars and episodes, this is certifiably a deadly cocktail that not everyone survives (there are also abused men).
Looking back, there are things most of us would undo…
